Sixteen year old Tina (Palestina) enraged her parents by falling in love with an African American boy. It was something they considered a dent on their reputation and an act of sacrilege.
Tina’s father- Zein Isa, was a member of the Abu Nidal Organization- a radical group being monitored by the FBI for terrorist activities. The FBI had Zein under 24 hour surveillance for this reason and had bugged his house so as to listen in on his conversations.
In November 1989, the FBI inadvertently tape-recorded the entire episode of Tina being murdered by her dad and mom
In a ghastly eight-minute sequence, Zein Isa stabbed his daughter Palestina thirteen times with a butcher’s knife as his wife- Maria- held the girl down to the ground. Maria responded to Palestina’s pleas for help with a brutal “Shut up!”
The killing ends with Zein screaming “Die! Die quickly! Die quickly! . . . Quiet, little one! Die, my daughter, die!”
The young girl passed away at the hands of her parents who tried to cover their acts. But the on-going FBI investigations meant that there was no escaping punishment.
Cruise Nigeria commemorates the death sentence doled out to both Zein Isa and his wife Brazilian wife- Maria Isa on this day in 1991.
