It was Douglas Horton, I think, who famously said, “Beauty is variable; and ugliness is constant” But we all know that for some people; Beauty is a constant! You may disagree, but please spare me the cliché of ‘beauty lying in the eyes of the beholder’. Why can’t we just accept that beauty can reach a consensus before all eyes? Even before the blind!

One of such scarce examples is the current Face of Cruise- Miss Gabriella Ndu. I had the pleasure of sitting with her and getting to behold up close what you only see through your phones and computer LCD screens. And when I shook her hands and watched her smile, I immediately concurred with the words of Aldous Huxley who once said, “Beauty is worse than wine; it intoxicates both the holder and beholder!”

Dude, I was high!

She isn’t just a 400 level Law student at the University of Nigeria, but at only 20, Gabriella is the current ‘MBGN 2011 Face of Select Pro Cosmetics’. That’s a long one huh? I thought so too. But suffice it to say that she’s the most beautiful Nigerian lady representing ‘Select Pro Cosmetics’ and of course- Cruise Entertainment!

She is the second in a family of four and her hobbies include surfing the internet as well as taking pictures.

‘Please Gabriella, tell me you write’ – I pleaded for common grounds between us.

“Of course I write. I love writing- I love literature! I even belong to the Okike literary club!”

That’s what I needed to hear! So tell us; how did participating in the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) contest 2011 affect you?
MBGN 2011 was a life changing experience. I learnt a lot… From meeting 34 girls from different background and walks of life, the runway and etiquette lessons. We also had many lessons on endurance and decorum among a litany of others! It was just an unforgettable experience that I’ll treasure till I turn grey- and definitely a blessing.

So what has life been like after MBGN 2011?

Life after MBGN 2011 was at first normal- I didn’t feel peculiar or different. I was just, you know- the normal Gabriella. People still treated me the same way they used to and I coped pretty well. I can’t say the same about life as the ‘MBGN 2011 Face of Select Pro’. Being this is actually really fun and at the same time challenging. I travel a lot more often and I can tell you with an overwhelming degree of certainty that it’s God’s grace that has seen me combining my Law Career with the amount of travelling I do. Whew!

When asked her ambitions; this is what she had to say;

I look forward to being a trail blazer; a front runner amongst my peers and by His grace; notable personality in Nigeria.

So finally; which will you settle for? Litigation or Modelling?

I have a passion for Law but I’m definitely going to pursue both careers. Even though modelling would remain what it has always been-a hobby!

Whether she decides to pursue it actively or not- she’s got what it takes to be a trail blazer! Ladies and Gentlemen; give it up for the First Face of Cruise Entertainment Magazine!
