The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority on Saturday said it had handed over three officers of the agency to the police over the death of a 24-year-old commercial bus conductor, Rasheed Alabi.
Alabi was killed in Lagos last Thursday after two officials of LASTMA allegedly pulled him down from his bus to his death.
The General Manager of the agency, Mr. Babatunde Edu, in a statement, said the suspects, who were arrested in their various homes in the early hours of Friday, had also been directed to stay away from their duty posts to allow the police to carry out proper investigations into the incident.
Edu reiterated the commitment of the Lagos State Government to ensure safety of lives and property of the citizenry and urged officers of the agency to be more proactive in the discharge of their duties.
