The Ogun State Command of the Nigerian Customs Service has intercepted 60 bags of Cannabis, popularly called Indian Hemp, in Ilikimu-Ilara Road, a border area between Nigeria and Benin Republic.

Customs Area Controller, Ogun State Command, Akande Bamidele, explained that the weed weighed 300kgs and valued at N600,000.

He assured that men and officers of the command were battle-ready for smugglers in the area.

Bamidele stated that the seizure was made possible through inter-agency co-operation.

“We must continue to secure lives, property of Nigerians, territorial integrity of the country and protection from all forms of prohibited and unwholesome goods,” he said.
