Three policemen were feared dead when unknown gunmen attacked the residence of the Imo state Commissioner of Police at Chiranchi quarters of Kano, Monday afternoon.
The officers were said to be on duty at the commissioner’s residence when they came under fire. There was pandemonium in the neighborhood as residents and passers-by scampered for safety
The affected area has been cordoned off by the police.
The police Image maker in Kano, ASP Magaji Musa Majia confirmed the incident but could not give details, stressing that the area has been cordoned off for possible arrest.
Violent attacks on security personnel have been on the rise in recent weeks in Kano after the January 20th multiple bombings where over 186 people died.
