Cruise Nigeria can confirm that the Special Offences Court at Alausa, Ikeja, Southwest Nigeria, on Tuesday sentenced 32 sex workers to four months imprisonment for engaging in acts inimical to public peace and safety.

The 32 sex workers were among the 52 arrested by the Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit last Wednesday at Toyin Street and Isaac John areas of Ikeja.

The remaining 20 others will be arraigned in court soon and may face similar fate that befell their colleagues.

The sex workers were convicted on a three-count charge and sentenced according to the gravity of each of the charges.
